Master's Award in Development Studies

What is the Master's Award?

UniPID and the Finnish Society for Development Research (FSDR) hand out an annual prize to accomplished theses related to the field of global development studies. The recipient of the prize receives a sum of 1000 €, with two other meriting works awarded with honorary mentions. The aim of the award is to promote interdisciplinary development research conducted in UniPID member universities.

Who is the Master's Award for?

The application period is usually open from spring (April) until August. All theses that handle development topics or sustainable development in the context of or related to the Global South are eligible to apply. Theses completed during the previous academic year (August 1 to July 31) are eligible to participate. If you are interested in submitting your thesis during the next open call, keep an eye on the UniPID website, newsletters and Facebook during the spring.
