UniPID will contribute to this year's IST-Africa Conference in Mauritius by taking part in one closed and two public workshops. The conference, which will be held between the 6th and 9th of May, is the ninth in an annual series of Ministerial Level Technology Research Conferences. The goals of the series of IST-Africa Conferences include supporting the development of the information society and knowledge economy in Africa, promoting international research and development cooperation as well as showcasing African research and innovation capacity. The 2014 conference programme includes 37 thematically focused sessions featuring over 150 presenters from public, private, education and research organisations in 37 countries (14 European, 22 African Member States, and Japan).

UniPID's Melissa Plath will be presenting CAAST-Net Plus in "Workshop 3a: Horizon 2020" at 2 pm on the 7th of May and also take part in a closed meeting on NCP Training on the 9th.

UniPID's FinCEAL Africa coordinator, Eva Kagiri, will be chairing Workshop 10c "Cooperation with Finnish Institutions: Highlighting Expertise and Partnership Opportunities" at 11 am on the 9th of May. The workshop will be an opportunity for all participants to meet representatives from different Finnish institutions working within ICT and who are actively involved or looking to be involved in partnership projects with their counterparts from Africa and Europe.
