Learning objectives for the Sustainability in Development module

UniPID Virtual Studies course catalogue has annual changes due to course cycles, however, general learning objectives can be found for the Sustainability in Development study module. Learning objectives for the Sustainability in Development module

After successfully completing the module of Sustainability in Development, the student should be able to:

  • Understand, critically evaluate, and apply the different concepts and relevant debates in contemporary development research and sustainable development.
  • Explain and assess different development discourses, structures and hierarchies in development practice and research.
  • Combine and apply different theoretical, conceptual, and methodological viewpoints from development research to interpret social, political, environmental, cultural, and economic processes on different scales.
  • Identify trends, actors, institutional political aspects, main root causes, interrelatedness, and potential future scenarios and their links to global development.
